Africa is a continent not a country

I noticed that many people are unaware that Africa is a continent, not a country. When people ask them about it, I see most teenagers outside of Africa say that Africa is one country on various social media platforms. Africa is the world's second-largest continent and the world's second-most populous continent, both after Asia. It occupies 6% of the Earth's total surface area and 20% of its land area.According to the United Nations, Africa now has 54 countries.
I believe this is because most of the time when we talk about Africa, we talk about it as if it is a single entity, also we usually use a full map that does not indicate the country divisions.
